Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters (preferred) degree in the biological, physical or social sciences or public policy/public affairs;
  • Three years of full-time employment in securing intramural and extramural funding;
  • Three years of at-least part-time research experience covering a range of topics;
  • Experience working with faculty and other researchers in a university or similar environment;
  • Experience analyzing request for proposals and interacting with funding agency personnel;
  • Excellent oral communication skills;
  • Impeccable writing skills;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of national research programs;
  • Ability to work independently and in teams;
  • Highly organized;
  • Ability to implement systems and follow-up processes;
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in support of unit goals and mission;
  • Ability to produce a high-quality work product within tight time constraints;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities under strict deadlines;
  • Self-starter and highly motivated;
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, funding and proposal submission databases (such as COS Pivot, Foundation Directory Online, Fastlane, Cayuse, etcetera) and statistical software programs (such as SPSS).


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Weekend/evening hours as needed to meet internal and external deadlines.
This position is contingent upon continuation of funding and/or work.
The McClure Center is located in Boise, Idaho; however, the Grants and Research Associate can work remotely and be based in a different region of the state.
Occasional travel may be required.
