This position will assist the Director and counseling staff in the delivery of counseling center services. Plays a major role in establishing and maintaining an atmosphere of care, safety, confidentiality, and professional competence in dealing with students, their families, faculty, staff, and others who may contact the center.
Greets visitors and callers to the counseling services department. Assess in person or by phone to determine the caller’s/visitor’s needs and levels of distress. Makes appropriate appointments, counselor selection and/or referral. Communicates vital information to counseling staff.
Provide case management for students who are referred to counseling by other departments, who miss appointments and follow up with critical students who have stopped coming to counseling to assess need for future appointments. Follow up with providers being used outside of university in obtaining releases of information for continuity of care.
Support counseling services office by answering emails, scheduling outreach activities, assisting with event planning and scheduling administrative meetings. Assists the Director with counseling and chapel activities and outreach.
Manages the counseling staff schedules electronically. Organizes and maintains confidential files, other files and the office in general.
College degree and previous experience working as a BHT (Behavioral Health Technician) or other professional behavioral health experience highly desired.
Must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Need to learn quickly to use Titanium and Pyramed.
