    The incumbent performs manual and skilled work in the farm production.












     

     


    Knowledge Skills and Abilities



    • Knowledge of farming techniques for farming production, including being able to determine the appropriate equipment for different tasks.

    • Knowledge of farm equipment and determine when maintenance is needed.

    • Ability to comprehend, carry out and explain verbal and written instructions

    • Sensitivity to cost control to minimize loss 
     

    Essential Job Functions



    • Assist with harvesting crops

    • Feeding and moving livestock

    • Handling irrigation

    • Moving grass and weeding

    • Spraying pesticides and fertilizer as required

    • Carrying out repairs to fencing and machinery

    • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions

    • Physical capability to perform heavy work

    • Ability to work independently and with limited social interactions

    • Operating tractors and other farm equipment and vehicles

    • Assure hay is dry and clean, and check inventory
