The
Laboratory Animal Facility at the University at Buffalo is seeking an Equipment and Transportation Specialist. The Equipment and Transportation Specialist performs a variety of duties related to the repair, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Duties are as follows:
Work with UB Facilities and external vendors to ensure repair and maintenance of washing and sterilizing equipment. Perform various tasks as needed to keep equipment in good working condition including preventative maintenance tasks. Participate in operations orientation of all new equipment. Write instructions or provide training on maintenance or operating tasks. Responsible for transportation of supplies and equipment between UB campuses using UB provided cargo van. Transportation of live animals between campuses. The position will have some on-call after hours and weekend responsibilities responding to alarms for HVAC and plumbing problems. This position will respond to alarms and evaluate situation. If repairs are needed work orders will be placed with UB Facilities. Must enroll in University at Buffalos Occupational Health Program and adhere to any requirements of that program. Participate as member of the Lab Animal Facilities emergency ride out team. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Valid New York State drivers license Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of HVAC , plumbing and electrical systems or welding is a plus. Experience with commercial washing and sterilizing equipment a plus. Physical Demands
