    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
    The Interim Assistant Director for Religion/Spiritual Life & Education facilitates and assesses current campus spiritual programs and religious observations, oversees the Collegiate Religious Center (CRC), and supervises Campus Chaplains. This temporary role supports student faith organizations and engages with the broader Worcester religious community. Additionally, the position may consult on accommodating students' religious needs or responding to crises until a permanent hire is made. The Interim Assistant Director for Religion/Spiritual Life & Education is a staff member in the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Multicultural Education (ODIME) and reports directly to the Director of Multicultural Education and Community Engagement.

    JOB DESCRIPTION



    • Coordinate and assess campus spiritual life programs and religious observations during the interim period.

    • Lead and oversee the Collegiate Religious Center (CRC) and supervise Campus Chaplains temporarily.

    • Support student faith organizations and engage with the broader Worcester religious community on an interim basis.

    • Collaborate with ODIME and campus partners to foster an inclusive campus community until a permanent hire is made.

    • Consult on accommodating students' religious needs and respond to campus/community crises during the interim appointment.

    • Assist in training and transitioning the new permanent hire.




    Position Requirements:



    • Bachelor's degree in religious studies, theology, psychology, education, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in higher education (or related context working with teen or young adult populations). Relevant graduate internships/assistantships are considered as experience.

    • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute events and programs.

    • Experience working with diverse populations and fostering inclusive environments.

    • Preferred graduate degree from an accredited program in STEM, higher education, religious studies, theology, leadership, business, social sciences, or related field. Preferred training/certification in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
