  • Research Technician I, Medicine

    The University at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is seeking a Research Technician I to perform routine tasks to support and directly assist a research project or program. The experiments performed in the lab will be designed to understand the mechanisms by which pathogenic strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae or Acinetobacter baumannii cause disease. Studies will be performed to identify and assess potential drug targets and/or vaccine candidates.



    • Perform experiments and record and interpret results

    • Use techniques including, but not limited to growth and maintenance of bacterial strains, determining bacterial titers, animal work model, ELISA assays, protein carbohydrate purification, and molecular technique for creating mutants

    • Perform lab maintenance duties, including media preparation and ordering of supplies and equipment
