Position Summary
The University at Buffalo,
Division of Student Life is accepting applications for the
Alcohol and Other Drug Harm Reduction Specialist within the office of
Health Promotion . Under the supervision of the
AOD Program Coordinator, this position will assist with the implementation of a comprehensive plan to develop a multimodal harm reduction program to be utilized by the entire University at Buffalo student population.
As the Alcohol and Other Drug Harm Reduction Specialist, your responsibilities include:
Coordination, customization and implementation of all online alcohol and other drug/sexual violence prevention education courses
Facilitation of group educational interventions for students who violate substance use policy
One-on-one risk reduction sessions with students based on the BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention with College Students) model of motivational interviewing
Assist with planning and implementation of other Alcohol and Other Drug Harm Reduction outreach and programs

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of one year of related experience
Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, project management and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in field related to health behavior, health communications, social work or counseling
Demonstrated skills and experience working with diverse college student populations
