Current funded research includes projects with civil, chemical, electrical, and biomedical engineering departments, Tufts School of Medicine, Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tufts Medical Center, and the Tufts University departments of biology, chemistry, astrophysics, classics, child development, and psychology.



    What You'll Do


    The Research Engineer will bring experience and targeted technical skills to a research group in engineering. The individual will solve technical problems, build hardware, take data, perform predictive calculations, develop theory, and analyze results in support of externally funded research projects.



    Essential Functions:



    • Build test hardware for experiments of relevance to externally funded research projects.
    • Build prototype systems of relevance to externally funded research projects.
    • Take data of relevance to externally funded research projects.
    • Analyze data of relevance to externally funded research projects.
    • Perform design calculations and theoretical engineering analysis of relevance to externally funded research projects.
    • Summarize results in written and verbal reports of relevance to externally funded research projects.
    • Work cooperatively with faculty and students to perform tasks required for externally funded research projects.



    What We're Looking For


    Basic Requirement


     


     


    · Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science.


    · Several years of experience in engineering research.


     


    Preferred Qualifications


     


    · Master’s degree in engineering or physical science.
