    Position:  Research Technician (Poultry Unit)                                                                                  Department: CAENS/GWCAES

    Status: Full-Time: Exempt

    Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

    Assist faculty and other scientists with all research projects conducted at the poultry unit
    Provide leadership in the day to day management and maintenance of the poultry unit
    Ensure that buildings and equipment are ready for conducting research
    Assist in data collection and analysis of poultry research
    Assist with teaching poultry science laboratory classes
    Coordinate and maintenance outdoor facilities and laboratory equipment and supplies for the poultry unit
    Keep records of all research and inventory of equipment at the poultry unit
    Perform all other duties as assigned


    Bachelor degree in Animal or Agricultural Sciences
    Experience in laboratory procedures
    Experience in conducting research
    Ability to communicate orally and to be able to write manuscripts
    Experience working with animals

    Additional Desirable Qualifications

    Masters degree preferred
    Computer literate
    Be able to statistically analyze research data

    Commensurate with education, training, and experience: Position contingent upon outside funding

    Additional Position Information:

    This position require weekend and after work hours’ job responsibilities during peak season
    You will be required to do local and out of state traveling
