    We seek to hire a laboratory technician to join our interdisciplinary research team. The ideal candidate will primarily contribute to day-to-day operation of synthetic biology research, with a focus on novel experiments for synthetic communication among soil microbial consortia. The candidate's work will contribute to the broader development of nonconventional hosts for synthetic biology. The position will provide ample opportunity for exposure to cross- disciplinary research initiatives. Funding for the technician position is secured for 18 months.

    An interest in synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, and natural microbial consortia is essential. In addition to original experimental equipment for assaying soil microbial consortia, the technician will be responsible for obtaining reagents, maintaining lab organization, and assisting lab researchers with experiments and reporting for project milestones.


    [*] At least a two-year degree and at least two years experience in molecular cloning or microbial cultivation [u]or[/u] a B.S. in biology, biotechnology, biological engineering, or a closely related field
