The University Advancement Division (UA) is a comprehensive development and alumni relations enterprise with a staff complement of approximately 200 FTE. Functional units within UA include development/fundraising, alumni relations, stewardship and donor relations, advancement communications, special events, gift processing, research, prospect management, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, information systems and management and infrastructure services. UA’s mission is to build strong relationships with Tufts University’s constituents, match donor interests with the University’s needs and priorities, and secure the financial resources necessary for Tufts to achieve excellence in teaching, research and scholarship. The division is strongly committed to serving the academic agenda of the University and to creating a culture of philanthropy in the extended Tufts community. Integrity, collegiality, diversity, accountability, mutual trust and respect for the individual as well as the intentions of our donors are the values that guide the work of the division.The mission of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at the Fletcher School is to serve the community by:Raising annual and capital funds to meet the school’s strategic priorities; Stewarding all donors so that impact and return on the investment is both timely and clear; andCreating and sustaining long-term, relevant relationships with the school’s nearly 9,000 worldwide alumni as well as friends, including supporting approximately 72 domestic and international alumni clubs, administering world-class reunion programs and international symposia, and by ensuring communications of increasingly higher quality and using multiple media.The Director is responsible for the overall planning and execution of Fletcher’s annual fund campaign effort, with special emphasis on the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Fletcher leadership donors ($1,000 ) and increasing alumni participation to and beyond the 30% mark. The goal of the Fletcher Fund is to exceed $1.6 million and to continue to engage as many alumni, parents, and friends for the school. The Director is responsible for the identification, recruitment, and management of annual fund volunteers.
