Grounds Labor Crew Leader works with and supervises/monitors a 5-15 man crew (including temporary labor) in the completion of skilled and unskilled tasks and concurrent projects relative to the general upkeep of the University Grounds, sanitation, recycling, moving/hauling, landscaping, and maintenance of athletic arena, setting up and take down of equipment and preparations for special events such as track meets, softball, football, baseball and other special events. Monitors manual tasks such as mow grass, sow grass/fertilizer, chemical applications, police grounds, weed shrub beds, move and haul furniture and other materials/equipment. Trains and applies high maintenance techniques/standards equivalent to the certified standards for lawn care. Serves as backup driver for the sanitation truck and required to have valid NC commercial driver’s license (CDL). Acts as Supervisor in the absence of the Supervisor.
