The College of Agriculture at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Student Recruiting Administrator to oversee all aspects of the development and implementation of the recruitment of students to the College of Agriculture. This position will report to the Associate Dean for Instruction. Essential Functions to include (but not limited to):

Direct undergraduate student recruiting activities within the college including the development and implementation of a recruiting plan as well as tracking and benchmarking of recruiting activities to establish best practices and ensure effectiveness of recruiting efforts. Develop and design college recruiting programs and events. Provide leadership for departmental and college recruiting efforts as well as college scholarship administration. Track applicant and admission data. Work with the college communication and marketing office to develop recruiting materials and a communication and marketing plan for prospective students and track associated data to ensure effectiveness. Serve as the advisor for undergraduate student recruiters (Ag Ambassadors). Serve as the college point of contact for prospective students and scholarship inquiries. Cultivate connections with high school and community college advisors and faculty. Supervise student workers and on- and off-campus recruiting events.

Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Agriculture, Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in student recruitment or academic advising in a higher education environment. Knowledge of developing recruiting policies and procedures, marketing and promotional practices is also required. The individual selected for the position must be able to communicate effectively, work in a team, solve problems, evaluate options, and make timely decisions; must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States by the appointment date and continue working legally for the proposed term of the appointment.

Desired qualifications include: a Master’s degree from an accredited institution which may include a broad range of academic majors within Agriculture, Education, Humanities, Liberal Arts, or Business; experience in academic advising; demonstrated ability to work with students; knowledge of higher education issues; some experience in working with faculty and staff in higher education; and a strong record of working with a team of colleagues.
