The University at Buffalo's Campus Living Unit invites applications for the Facility Operations Assistant 1 position. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine unskilled and semi-skilled manual tasks related to the operations and maintenance of residential buildings and facilities, the surrounding grounds, vehicles and equipment. Your duties include:
- Clean buildings and facilities including, but not limited to: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash receptacles, and washing interior/exterior windows.
- Perform routine and unskilled work such as carry supplies and equipment, erect ladders and scaffolding, clean and flush gutters, deliver and remove materials from construction sites, and clean the worksite after repair work is complete.
- Perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks such as unclogging toilets and sinks, changing light bulbs and tubes, rough carpentry and masonry work.
- Perform general grounds maintenance tasks such as clearing sites, raking/tilling soil, maintaining roads and sidewalks, removing snow, trash and other obstructions.
- Load and unload heavy equipment, supplies, and furniture by physically lifting items or operating a hand truck, forklift, or pallet jack.
- Perform routine and unskilled tasks in the operation, inspection, repair and maintenance of automotive equipment and other machinery such as mounting and dismounting snowplows, snow removal equipment, and aerial boom lifts.
