The Office of Alumni Engagement at Tufts University seeks a dynamic, creative, self-starter to join the team as Assistant Director of Student and Young Alumni Engagement.
The mission of the Office of Alumni Engagement is to inspire lifelong engagement with the Tufts Community. Through connections, shared experiences, and opportunities to give back, we empower Alumni to make an impact on each other and the University. This is accomplished through extensive programming initiatives in Boston, throughout the United States and around the world catering to a variety of alumni needs and interests. OAE is the key point of contact for all alumni of the University. In conjunction with the Alumni Association, the Office of Alumni Engagement plans events and programs including Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, Reunions, Lifelong Learning & Travel Learn, Career Networking, Alumni Awards, Senior Awards and Alumni Council meetings, as well as programming for current students of the University, soon to be alumni.
Working closely with the Director of Outreach & Engagement, the Assistant Director of Student and Young Alumni Engagement will conceptualize and develop events and new initiatives with a specific focus on current students and alumni who have graduated within 10 years. They will partner closely with the office of annual giving around fundraising initiatives targeted toward this constituency of students and young alumni. This position will plan and execute outreach and engagement strategies across the country specific to student and young alumni engagement with the goal to increase constituent and donor awareness, participation, and philanthropic investment; broaden and deepen engagement with students and young alumni; and foster lasting connections between alumni, students, the University, and the Alumni Association. The Assistant Director will collaborate with colleagues representing University Advancement, Schools and Colleges, the Office of Campus Life, Dean of Student Affairs Office, and other campus units to identify strategic objectives and manage associated outreach and programming initiatives. Key events include, but are not limited to, supporting reunion programs for 1, 5 and 10 year classes which emphasize the unique relationship between young graduates and Tufts, creating homecoming programming which targets the specific needs and desires of young alumni; overseeing the annual student programming such as the senior dinner series, the welcome back seniors event, and the welcome to the city student and young alumni series.
Lead the development, planning, and execution of student and young alumni programming and events.
Leverage existing events to facilitate and bolster alumni engagement.
Serve as a liaison between the Office of Alumni Engagement, University Advancement, the Office of Campus Life, and the Dean of Student Affairs Office to develop, coordinate, and communicate engagement strategies.
Oversees the development and maintenance of web-based information relating to young alumni.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
