The office of the Department of Biomedical Sciences is involved in teaching, research and clinical service. Faculty members direct and participate in many core courses in the veterinary school and are involved in research activities that study neuroscience and reproductive biology. Diagnostic services are provided by the Section of Pathology to hospital clinicians and clients. This section provides biopsy & necropsy services and operates clinical pathology and histology laboratories. The histology lab’s mission is to provide state of the art processing of tissue samples for both diagnostic evaluation and research activities for internal and external clients.
The position requires competency in tissue fixation, preparation, embedding, sectioning and staining procedures for routine preparations as well as frozen sections. Competency in performing special (non H&E) histochemical staining and all aspects of immunohistochemical staining, including reagent preparation, application and assay validation is considered essential. Use and maintenance of histology equipment such as processor and stainers. Tissue trimming and grossing of surgical and research specimens. The slides are read by a pathologist. This person is expected to have a commitment to quality and customer service and provide professional assistance to all pathologists, as well as internal and external clients.

- Over 5 years experience
- Bachelor Degree
- Proficient in Word and Excel
