Overview
The Obesity Metabolism investigates the molecular and physiological basis of obesity and associated metabolic complications including insulin resistance, fatty liver, and atherosclerosis, .The laboratory uses genetically modified mice to study the roles and functions of specific proteins in the pathogenesis of obesity and associated disorders.
What You'll Do
Work in collaboration with the senior investigator in the host laboratory. S/he works independently to participate in or lead a portion of a research project or projects. The research associate contributes ideas and suggestions to the research effort, operates independently and collaboratively with other members of the laboratory and Dr. Greenberg to generate preliminary data for grants, write and submit abstracts and manuscripts. This individual may have other responsibilities in the laboratory such as supervision of staff, training of graduate students or postdoctoral fellows, grant proposal writing, writing papers, etc.

What We're Looking For
Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses
|
· Three years’ experience in postdoctoral research position
· PhD, MD, DVM, DDS, DMD or equivalent Doctoral degree
|
Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc.
|
· tissue culture cell-based biosassys, cell imaing and fluorescence microscopy
· molecular cloning, qPCR, PCR, DNA,/RNA/protein extraction and purification, western bloting
· GC-MS, UV and fluorescence microplate reader
· experience working performing research with rodent
·
