The OEO helps to realize the University’s commitment to and aspirations for development, implementation of, execution and monitoring of the federal and state mandated EEO policies and programs. This also includes programmatic responsibilities such as supporting the University’s Title IX and Title VII policies (such as the non-discrimination policy and including the sexual misconduct policy) through prompt, effective and remedial investigative responses to complaints of harassment and discrimination brought by students, faculty, staff and third parties and set forth in various university policies and guidelines.

Consults with students, employees and other stakeholders, providing in-depth education to all stakeholders to reach consensus to identify an action plan for reasonable accommodations. Identifies and makes decisions about accommodation needs, coordinating accommodation services for students with multiple disabilities, implementing strategies and resources (internal and external) to facilitate best practice responses to disability issues and accommodation requests. Participates in discussions and problem-solving with internal and external stakeholders for accommodation resolutions. Initiates and engages in the interactive process and identifies and facilitates the implementation of reasonable accommodations on a case-by-case basis using the interactive process. Utilizes a database to track requests for reasonable accommodations.
