Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Residential Student Services and/or the General Manager in the Office of Residential Student Services, the Residence Hall Director (RHD) provides guidance, support and supervision of an educational housing facility housing 250-1,000 students. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: supervising student staff; facilities supervision; implementation of a comprehensive programming effort; crisis intervention; conflict resolution; acting as a hearing officer; community development; participating in an on-call duty rotation; and performing related work as required. The RHD works to create an environment conducive to academic excellence and fosters personal development and a sense of community within the living environment. Due to the required duties and functions of this position and the need for accessibility in the residence halls, this position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours and on-campus residency which will be provided.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience in housing and residence life or a related student affairs position is required. Experience with residence hall student development, facilities operations and residence life programs in higher education is preferred. Candidate must have strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills, proven leadership and be computer literate.
