This job will be a Benefits Specialist or Senior Benefits Specialist, depending on the experience of the candidate.

Under limited supervision, counsels and assists staff, faculty and retirees regarding a variety of benefit programs including health, dental and vision insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, life, AD&D, long term disability and long term care insurance, basic and voluntary retirement plans and other ancillary programs. Responsible for administering assigned benefits programs, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, auditing plan enrollment and managing third party vendors.

Qualifications

Benefits Specialist Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree.
3-5 year related experience.
Knowledge of traditional benefits programs, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ACA and related laws.
Experience with enterprise HRIS systems, proficiency with MS office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience auditing and reconciling benefit programs with HRIS.
Superior customer service skills, strong organizational and prioritization skills, demonstrated oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate technical information in understandable terms to diverse groups of constituents, ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Senior Benefits Specialist Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
5-7 years related experience.
Knowledge of traditional benefits programs, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ACA and related laws.
Experience with enterprise HRIS systems, proficiency with MS office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience auditing and reconciling benefit programs with HRIS.
