Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:

Utah Valley University is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team within the Finance and Administration office. The successful individual will support the AVP for Finance/GRAMA and the VP of Finance and Administration on divisional special projects as assigned.
  • Apply state laws, regulations, and university policies and procedures to specific assignments.
  • Support the AVP for Finance/GRAMA in responding to all incoming GRAMA (Government Records Access and Management Act) requests in an appropriate and timely manner as required by law.
  • Be responsible for implementing and overseeing the university's record retention and management system in accordance with Utah's Public Records Management Act (PRMA).
  • Functionally understands the university's internal controls and how they relate to record retention.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the division as a whole.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelors degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of common governmental business procedures including fund accounting, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of general business concepts such as federal taxation, the purchasing cycle, and data management.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software, including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics presentation, accounting software, and databases.
  • Knowledge of business theories and techniques for data extraction, analysis, and presentation of data.
  • Knowledge of authorized uses and security practices governing protected health care, student and employee information maintained in various databases.
  • Skills in task prioritization, data querying, time management, customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Ability to maintain work quality and professional standards in stressful situations involving conflict, ambiguity, and time pressure.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and prepare accurate financial or summary reports.
  • Ability to work independently and without significant direction.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with legal implications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, written and verbally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to effectively train others on difficult concepts.


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Business, Accounting, or a related field with two years experience in a related field.

Physical Requirements:

Requires the ability to sit for extended period of time, to operate office equipment and handle general office supplies.

Pay Range: $49,955 -$62,443 annually DOQ
