University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) strengthens Berkeley's excellence through engagement with alumni, parents, undergraduate and graduate students, and friends of the University, raising public awareness about Berkeley and increasing private philanthropy. UDAR provides overall direction for the campus' philanthropic advancement strategies and works to strengthen unit development in partnership with campus fundraisers. The Division handles a range of central activities and services encompassing communications, stewardship, prospect development, gift management, and more.
- Supervises the development of methods and procedures on new assignments and provides leadership to other members of department;
- Oversees the student worker program; job posting, task assignments, mentoring, performance evaluation.
- Applies advanced business systems concepts to define highly complex systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements;
- Performs highly complex analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications; writes Request for Proposals (RFPs) or portions of the RFP document;
- Creates highly technical specifications for systems with broad impact on campus
- Applies advanced technical project management concepts with a full understanding of project management practices and IT policies and procedures; provides analysis for highly complex, project related issues;
- Monitors programs and projects from initiation through delivery, including oversight of system integration, project and campus communications, interface with vendors and managing risk;
- May lead cross-functional teams to solve complex business or system issues;
- Plans and executes unit integration and acceptance testing
- Works with Gift Operations, Advancement Operations, the Fund raising Council (FRC), and Marketing Communications to assess business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
- Requires advanced knowledge of business analysis function.
- Must have knowledge relating to the design of applications programs across the campus.
- Requires knowledge of other related areas of IT.
- Knowledge of department processes and procedures.
- Requires advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation.
- Requires interpersonal and communications skills in order to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- Has skills needed to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience.
