With staff across all of Tufts’ campuses, as well as a 24×7 IT Service Desk, we collaborate with schools and divisions to meet the demands of a global, mobile community and to enable the broadest possible access.Come join our collaborative, flexible work environment, where leadership is valued at all levels of the organization, and opportunities abound to work with leading technologies and learn new skills.Responsible to manage the physical cable plant infrastructure, as well as the installation of active data communications and electronic networking equipment in communications rooms and routing hubs. This position will place and maintain cables in tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, conduit, buried, and aerial as required. Perform tests on cable for certification and troubleshoot using various equipment such as, Fluke DSX5000, OTDRs, and spectrum analyzers. Install and deploy cabling and equipment in accordance with design plans and work orders. Conduct wireless network field surveys using tools such as the AirMagnet Survey Pro to measure signal strength and to generate wireless "heat maps". This position participates in the on-call rotation.
