Research Technician I

New Research Technician position available immediately in the Popescu Laboratory at the University at Buffalo.
- The candidate will work collaboratively with graduate and undergraduate students
- Independently execute varied experimental procedures,
- Will have strong verbal and written communication skills to process research results and write summary reports,
- train and instruct support staff on methods and procedures,
- procure laboratory supplies, and will maintain laboratory reagents, stocks and equipment.
*Specific Laboratory Tasks Include:
- Order and maintain supply stocks
- Maintain inventories; general equipment calibration and up keep
- Participate in the orientation and training of new lab members
- Maintain compliance with safety policies and procedures
*Specific Research Tasks Include:
- Participate in weekly individual meeting with PI and as a group in team meetings
- Review relevant scientific literature in preparation for bench experiments
- Data acquisition and Analyses: Perform experiments involving cloning, protein chemistry, western blotting, and others
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation (reports) of experimental set up and results.
