Our pharmacy technicians are vital to our pharmacy operations as they work under the supervision of a pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies. We are a team making a difference!
We are currently looking for a Pharmacy Technician to support all aspects of the pharmacy operations fulfilling a shift of: Sunday 8am-2pm, Monday-Wednesday 8am-6pm. We are open to speaking about other schedule availability.
What You'll Do
Pharmacy Technician responsibilities include:
- Dispense medications and supplies for hospital patients
- Filling medication orders for inpatients, outpatients, and refill requests
- Restocking inventory in the pharmacy and dispensing cabinets
- Ensure proper dispensing, labeling, record keeping with accuracy
- Provide product information to staff and clients with accuracy
- Accurately bill clients for medications and supplies
- Comply with all federal and state drug laws development of in-advance work schedules for entire team including holidays and vacations
- Maintain adequate drug and supply inventory
- Restock pharmacy shelves when order arrives
- Take note of stock levels for reorder needs
Restock remote medicine and supply cabinets when necessary
- Fill stock orders for hospital departments as necessary
- Learn to Compound/reformulate medication:
- Specially prepare products for various species as needed
- Ascertain appropriateness of compounded formulation (i.e. stability, storage, expiration)
- Adhere to all compounding regulations
- Maintain pharmacy in a neat and professional manner
- Keep workspace clear and clean
- Maintain organized pharmacy records
- Partner with hospital service areas and team to understand root causes of repeat errors.
- Communicating with doctors, students and clients regarding medication orders or questions.
- Participate in identifying compliance issues and work with team and pharmacy leadership to resolve.
- Assist with tasks as assigned by Pharmacist Supervisor.
- Provides guidance and instructions to others as needed under the direction of the pharmacist staff and pharmacy supervisor.

What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a pharmacy technician in retail, hospital, or clinic environment
- Ability to multi-task in a busy hospital with frequent interruptions
- Ability to work in a team structure
- Ability to lift to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation
- Strong customer service skills
- Current Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License
Pay Range
Minimum $19.80, Midpoint $23.55, Maximum $27.30
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
