This HUB Administrator will be working closely with the leadership team of a USAID-funded project, STOP Spillover, as well as the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR). The position reports to the Project Director with a dotted line to the Hub Lead. The Hub Lead sets the work agenda and priorities, ensures collaboration across the project’s four Hubs, and provides performance oversight daily. The Hub Administrator also works closely with faculty members on the project, especially those affiliated with the Hub. Multiple schools and departments are involved in the STOP Spillover project. Several faculty work with the Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. This Project combines public/population health, international medicine, wildlife and conservation medicine and infectious disease teaching and research to improve human, animal, and ecosystem health locally, nationally and internationally.

What You'll Do

The Tufts University is seeking an experienced full time Hub Administrator to coordinate the programmatic activities of a sub-unit of a USAID funded five-year program entitled, Strategies to Prevent Spillover (STOP Spillover), to understand and address threats posed by zoonotic viral diseases that can “spill over” from animals to humans, such as SARS-CoV-2, to reduce risk of infection, amplification, and spread. Background in health or biological sciences with management skills, and excellent communication skills are key requirements for this position. This position is responsible for the daily administrative oversight and management of office functions of a sub-unit of the STOP Spillover project. These functions include communication among the Hub’s team members and with other consortium members, scheduling and coordination of meetings, generation and editing reports, participate in consortium management meetings, and others as directed by the Hub team members. Other key responsibilities include: work with colleagues to write and gather the necessary documents required for submission of reporting materials to federal funding agency; provide logistical support for the Hub Co-Leads, faculty, and support staff; compile and draft reports for regular submission;; assist with travel and expense reimbursements and expenditures; track and monitor progress on activities relevant to the Hub; organize and maintain project files and databases for easy search and access; draft articles and other external communications and keep these up-to-date; serve as point of contact for the Hub; and facilitate communication among team members.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses
1. Years of related experience required: 3 years in health or biological sciences and/or management
2. Required education: undergraduate degree with background in health or biological sciences or management
3. Special licenses required:
4. Required computer/technical skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Other (Describe – i.e., lifting, domestic/foreign travel, foreign language): Ability to work independently, under supervision, and as part of a team. The project spans time zones in Africa and Asia. Meetings may sometimes occur at hours of the day or evening outside of normal US working hours.
