The Admissions Unit of the University at Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center (UBEOC) is seeking an Admissions Advisor. The University Center for Academic and Workforce Development, State University of New York and UBEOC mission for the Center is to provide urban and/or disadvantaged residents in the Western New York area with tuition-free academic programs, workforce development training and certifications that lead to gainful employment opportunities.
An Admissions Advisor/ Recruiter supports enrollment efforts by providing admissions information to prospective students and community partners/organizations through meetings, presentations, events and other appropriate venues.
The Admissions Advisor/ Recruiter maintains extensive knowledge of admissions requirements and program eligibility and must be able to implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to a targeted population of students.
This position also requires flexibility with the work schedule as some evening and weekend hours are required.

Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 2 years of experience conducting outreach and recruitment. Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills, and social media knowledge.
Successful candidate must provide evidence of strong time management skills and attention to detail and the ability to assess and respond to the needs of adult students in an adult education context.
Masters’ degree in Education or related field.
