Overview

The faculty in MBM are united by a common interest in the biology of microbes (bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites) and the effects of microbes on human and animal hosts. The microbial pathogens program studies microorganisms that cause infectious diseases, with emphasis on rigorous analysis of these pathogens and the immune responses that restrict them. Program investigators direct detailed studies of pathogenic bacteria, viruses, fungi and eukaryotic parasites. Research topics include structural analysis of virus entry, viral evolution, viral oncogenes, intracellular bacterial pathogens, microorganisms that cause diarrhea and pneumonia, intracellular signaling, pathogen adhesion, genetic determinants involved in susceptibility to infection, vaccine development, and identification of novel antimicrobial agents.


What You'll Do

The Project Administrator is responsible for coordinating activities associated with a specific complex project(s) including coordination of communication, data management, document preparation, and process improvement.  Works in collaboration with the Investigator and other project staff as well as other stakeholders to help to implement the project’s objectives in support of identified goals and the continuous improvement process. Responsible for ensuring effective communication among stakeholders and project staff.  May manage data on the project’s effectiveness and data quality. Responsible for facilitating the deployment of the project’s strategy including implementing a variety of solutions that optimize the project’s effectiveness.  Coordinates the process of executing initiatives essential for the success of the project.

  • Support Investigator in efforts to ensure clarity of strategic goals, vision and details of the project
  • Ensure that the project reaches both the project’s goals as well as SCH goals
  • Provide comprehensive and effective project administration.
  • Effectively administer project activities
  • Ensure that materials and resources related to the project are produced, distributed and reviewed as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of data collected and recorded related to the project’s metrics and reporting requirements
  • Ensure that all databases and electronic systems are up-to-date
  • Ensure that inquiries related to the project are responded to adequately and in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and facilitate effective communication among project team, internal and external stakeholders and management
  • Facilitate informing Investigator regarding continuous improvement and project management effectiveness
  • Partner with other team members to ensure that initiatives and plans to sustain the project are understood by the implementation team as well as by stakeholders
  • Support the development and communication of the vision for near and long-term goals related to the project
  • Ensure that data regarding opportunities for improvement are captured and recorded for tracking and evaluation
  • Coordinate efforts to ensure that reliable methods and standard work tools and resources are available for clinical and non-clinical improvement initiatives
  • Monitor the use of reliable methods and standard work processes
  • Identify new opportunities for internal process improvements
  • Effectively manage and complete individual project tasks assigned within designated timelines and due dates
  • Ensure that project efforts are coordinated across the organization as needed
  • Develop and maintain effective communication tools and sites
  • Develop and maintain standardized systems and materials to enhance team effectiveness
  • Collaborate with the team to: coordinate and develop project materials, templates and designs; ensure materials, resources and records are up-to-date and comply with established standards
  • Create/edit presentations and reports utilizing a variety of data sources and computer projects
  • Ensure documents are timely, accurate and meet intended purpose
  • Provide effective support to Investigator to ensure that the project complies with all applicable regulatory standards


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Project Management or Science) and 3+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree and 1-2 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scientific background with experience in biotech, pharma, or global health
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Experience in database management systems
  • Master’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years of experience in related field of study
