The department of IT Customer Service at the University of Buffalo is seeking a Technical Supervisor. As the Technical Supervisor of the desktop support team, you will manage a dynamic and innovative technical team focused on advancing desktop support to the next level through systems and process automation. In this role you will:
- Maintain endpoint device security standards
- Provide advanced knowledge and additional support of desktop imaging software, and patch management tools and processes
- Oversee lifecycle management of supported endpoint devices
- Maintain endpoint security standards, guidelines, policies, and operating procedures
- Prioritize customer support requests to maximize efficiency
- Serve as primary contact for customer escalations
- Manage employee work schedules to account for vacations and illness, and to ensure adequate service/technical staff are available to support the services
- Create and write business documents, including management proposals, reports, charts, and diagrams

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience or master’s degree with 1 year of experience in Management of Technical Staff. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- High-level knowledge of operating system installation and support procedures
|
|
High-level knowledge of:
- hardware/software, firewall, system monitoring, automated deployment, automated patching, and information security practices and methodologies
- remote software management and deployment using SCCM/JAMF and similar tools
- analysis, Powershell scripting, project management methods and techniques
- Active Directory, Database Services, Endpoint Security, and troubleshooting methodologies

Must be able to lift and move desktop computers weighing up to 25lbs. with or without accommodation of a dolly or cart.
