Overview

The office of communications and marketing is responsible for all aspects of promoting and telling the story of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.

The office is also responsible for helping to support our educational, clinical, and research missions of the School. The office implements marketing strategies and programs designed to further advance the reputation of Cummings School across all of its missions. 


What You'll Do

The videographer produces videography and photography content in support of the mission and goals of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.

 

The Marketing Production Specialist collaborates with campus partners to visually tell our story engaging our primary audiences and works with faculty and staff to create and disseminate images required for education and research. The videographer/photographer understands content strategy, distribution platforms, and branding. This role reports to the director of communications and marketing.

Major areas of responsibility include:

  • Following best practices in development and production create dynamic visual content to be utilized across all communications channels, including digital, print, social media, email, and press, for our audiences.
  • Provide educational and clinical videography and photography services in support of the D.V.M. and graduate programs.
  • Work with researchers when required to create visual materials to support research and research stories.
  • Create high quality and accurate videos and photos of animals, and animals with humans.
  • Create marketing video pieces for various strategic and business goals.
  • Capture, edit and integrate video, audio, images, graphics, and text, meeting accessibility standards.
  • Capture and catalog b roll of the campus and facilities.
  • Catalog video and photo content.
  • Maintain, update and improve video content and delivery/hosting mechanisms.

 


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-3 years’ experience using diverse multimedia hardware, software, and production equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and to deadlines, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours depending on the assignment, including nights and weekends.
  • Expertise in pre and post video and photographic production.
  • Expertise in latest HD video and photography technology.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, and other post production tools and techniques.
  • Proficient in Google Docs suite, Microsoft Office suite, demonstrated ability to learn and master new software and technology.
  • Proficient with Mac operating systems.
  • Expertise with professional camera equipment, lighting, and audio.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications, along with interest and ability in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability for efficiency, resourcefulness, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated with ability to manage multiple projects at a time; must be detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience managing projects, able to meet same day or “this week” turnarounds, as required.
  • Physical ability to move, carry, and hold video and photographic equipment for long periods of time.
  • Share a portfolio or previous videographic and photographic work, preferably with both animals and humans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience filming and photographing animals.
  • Understanding of how best showcase and capture animal photography.
  • Experience in higher education or non-profit setting preferred.
  • Experience with digital story-telling.


Pay Range

Minimum $28.35, Midpoint $34.03, Maximum $39.70
 

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
