The primary purpose of the position is to ensure timely postings of news,
updates and events through a variety of channels, including news releases, web/social media announcements, emails and more.
Writes and formats communication materials for a variety of print and online publications, marketing materials, brochures, correspondence, etc., as determined by the department chair. Designs and sends emails for the department to faculty, students, alumni and community.
Assist in planning departmental events, works closely with the department chair and JOMC committee facilitators to discuss work requests. Strategizes communication distribution schedules, serves as primary web author for the department by ensuring content remains current and completing updates to various pages as needed.
Oversees social media presence by moderating and scheduling all social media for the department.
Writes communications materials to promote the department events and faculty/staff/student accomplishments. Takes photographs at departmental
Provides customer service to students, faculty, alumni, and visitors to the department. Performs other related duties as required.
