Coordinator of Student Life
American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has 3700 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences; Health Sciences; and Education. Provides clerical assistance and support to all areas of Student Life with primary responsibilities in the Center for Student Engagement. Duties to include managing emails, receipts, credit card reservation, and Purchase Order processing.
Handles duties specific to the reception desk including answering telephones and responding to inquiries both verbally and in writing, receiving students and visitors to the reception desk and making appropriate referrals, and overseeing student resources for the "resource programming area."
Supervises Center for Student Engagement Student Staff.
Manages the campus-wide room reservation requests, providing excellent communication to internal and external constituents.
Collaborates and assists with Student Life functions/programming including New Student Orientation (NSO), Friday After Dark Programming, Welcome Week Programming, Wellness Programming, Homecoming Weekend, AIC Day, Late night Breakfast, Cram Jam, Spring Weekend, Co-curricular Awards, Commencement Activities and other Student Life Programming.
Assists in the creation and review of all publications and marketing for campus programs and Student Life initiatives including management of social media pages, and the Campus Labs ENGAGE platform.
Assists in providing qualitative and quantitative data for quarterly and annual reports.
Serves as the primary advisor to the Yearbook.
Required Degree(s): Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Degree(s): Master’s Degree preferred.
Required Field of Expertise: Higher Education, Student Development, or related field and at least 1 year of experience in student activities, residence life, or other related student affairs function.
Required Training/Cert: Must have valid Driver’s license.
Must the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some evening and occasional weekend programming.
Must possess excellent program planning and assessment skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
Must have excellent customer service skills and great written and verbal communication skills.
Experience and/or passion working with a dynamic and diverse student population.
Ability to take initiative and prioritize actions while managing numerous tasks with a strong attention to detail.
Excellent organization and time management skills. Self-motivating and hard-working with a strong sense of accountability and professionalism.
Experience with the Campus Labs ENGAGE platform preferred.
This is a full time benefited position, scheduled for 35 hours per week. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch break. The schedule for this position will be flexible to the needs of the department with occasional night and weekend event work required.
