This is a limited term position for six months.The neurology service of the Department of Clinical Sciences the at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is searching for a clinical instructor to cover clinics from July to December 2020 (6 months). The mission is to offer exceptional care for dogs and cats, provide teaching and do relevant clinical research. The neurology service includes one faculty, 3 residents and 2 full time technicians. Daily activities include treatment of dogs and cats with neurological disorders, involvement in advanced diagnostic imaging and neurosurgical procedures, performing spinal fluid collections and electrodiagnostic testing. An important task is student and resident teaching as well as contributing to clinical research. The goal of the clinical instructor position is to achieve sustainable staffing, support in student and resident teaching and maintain sustainability of the workload.This is a clinical track position. The clinical instructor will be board certified in the specialty of veterinary neurology and neurosurgery. The main responsibilities are providing consultations, diagnostic and surgical procedures and care to patients with neurological disorders. An important part of the daily activities will be resident teaching and supervision. The person will be fully involved in teaching of students during their clinical neurology rotation. There will be some administrative duties and support of the research activities of the neurology service.
