Overview
The Admissions Staff Assistant provides administrative support for the DMD and PASS admissions processes. Administrative duties will include phone calls, e-mails, catering set-up and break-down, room reservations, etc.), processing DMD and PASS applications and providing support to Director of Admissions, the Director of Post-Doctoral Admissions and the Admissions Counselors.
The Admissions department manages application processing for nearly 4,000 DMD applications, 600 international DMD applications (DIS) each year and 1,500 post-doctoral applications. This includes selection of DMD and DIS candidates for interviews, as well as coordination for, and participation in, 60, or more, interview days each year and special events.
What You'll Do
The Staff Assistant will work with a professional Admissions team to fulfill the enrollment objectives set by the Dean for the school. S/he will provide administrative support for the DMD, IS, and postdoctoral admissions processes. The Staff Assistant processes applications, including tracking receipt of application fees and other components of applications, communicates with applicants regarding missing documents and updates Webadmit and maintains the Student Information System university database and the departmental databases. The Staff Assistant maintains and reconciles application fees and deposit accounts, distributes information on enrolling students to relevant university offices, and maintains general office systems and supplies This includes management of the file system, processing and responding to mail and email inquiries, and disseminating accurate admissions information. The Staff Assistant provides support for scheduling and planning interview days for the DMD and IS programs, conducts tours of the campus, and takes part in presentations about programs. The Staff Assistant's job responsibilities will focus 80% on the DMD and the IS admissions processes and 20% on the postdoctoral program. S/he will also provide support for interviews and special projects alongside the entire Admissions team.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor' Degree and up to 2 years of related experience, as a student employee or professional in a secondary school or institution of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Admissions experience in higher Ed, customer service, alumni relations, previous recruitment experience.
