Position Summary
The Content Creator in the University at Buffalo School of Engineering and Applied Sciences’ Communications Office will work with the SEAS Communication team to promote and market the school’s wide range of programs for students, staff, faculty and alumni to increase ranking and attract top students to the school.
Duties include the following:

  • Design postcards, information sheets, merchandise and posters for use on the web, in print and on the school’s digital signage following UB’s Brand Guidelines.
  • Create and post content on SEAS social media channels.
  • Write stories about students, faculty and alumni, event summaries and programs/activities for use in press releases, web content, school magazine and other marketing collateral.
  • Photograph school events, and create slide shows; organize, tag and caption photo collections.
  • Assist with creating and updating web pages using the UB Content Management System and the University-wide web accessibility initiative for SEAS websites, and collect/interpret analytics.
  • Develop marketing plans and timelines for SEAS depts. /units.
  • Other related duties as requested/assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience is required. Proficient in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel, social media platforms, InDesign, Photoshop, Mail Chimp or other email marketing tools, and Google Analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced engineering school environment
  • Good photography skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to take initiative, curious, reliable and self-motivated
  • An interest in science and engineering
  • Familiarity with UB’s web content management system and the AP style manual
