Overview
Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of the first-year and transfer class each year for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. Admissions is charged with meeting various enrollment goals across schools and programs.
What You'll Do
This is a hybrid position; this person will work from campus, from home, and from various locations while traveling on behalf of the University. Interested candidates must submit a resume and cover letter.
Reporting to an Associate Director, an Admissions Counselor contributes to the university’s efforts to recruit and enroll a compositionally diverse entering class. Each counselor conducts in-person recruitment and informational events on and off campus, as well as virtually; evaluates first-year and transfer applications as a member of a committee; assists in managing outreach to schools and college access organizations in an assigned geographic region of the US or the world; and assists a portfolio team with management of projects and initiatives. Portfolio teams manage projects related to diversity & access, communications, admissions software and data, US and international recruitment and travel, campus visit programming and events, and selection. Engaging and effective public speaking, strong written communication skills, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential. This position requires periodic travel to US or international destinations.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Public Speaking and Presentation Skills
- Strong Written Communication Skills
- Valid US Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CRM software, such as Slate
- Experience with Google Software Suite
- Knowledge of US and/or international educational systems
