The Professional Development (PD) Specialist, under the direction of the Training Office Coordinator, helps support the goals of the IdahoSTARS project with development and delivery of early childhood professional development opportunities that are equitable, research-based, and demonstrate best-practices for child care providers serving children birth to 12 years old in Idaho. The PD Specialist is responsible for developing early childhood curriculum and technical assistance modules, delivering professional development opportunities, and training staff and trainers on developed materials.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood, or in related field with coursework in child development, plus five years experience in the field of early care and education.
In development of equitable, researched-based, best-practices content in a deliverable manner;
In training curriculum delivery.
Masters Degree in Early Childhood, or related field with coursework in child development, plus five years experience in the field of early care and education;
In using Adult Learning Principles to ensure quality content development and delivery;
Possess an understanding of the written and spoken English language, utilizing appropriate grammar and accurate spelling.
Quality inclusive care;
Practice-based coaching in early childhood settings;
Computer literate to include database experience, Microsoft Office Suites, Smartsheets, Zoom video conferencing, Learning Management Systems;
Gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing data;
Interpreting federal or state regulations / guidelines;
Knowledge of Articulate 360;
Knowledge of SQL Server.
Maintain high level of confidentiality;
Use interpersonal communication skills;
Work in a state-wide team environment to accomplish goals;
Organize and problem-solve in a self-sufficient manner;
Use data to make informed decisions;
Use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in composing written statements;
Manage a variety of projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment;
Ensure high customer satisfaction by responding to customer questions promptly, in a knowledgeable, friendly manner over the phone, email or in-person, following up when necessary to ensure concerns are resolved;
Portray a friendly, professional demeanor with a positive attitude;
Work evenings and weekends;
Travel across the state as needed.
