The Office of Development plays an integral role in furthering Auburn University’s mission and vision. In partnership with a foundation board of 24 directors, the university’s fundraising office maintains a staff of 160 and raises more than $140 million annually. Auburn’s donors are engaged, dedicated, and generous and, through a robust and committed cultivation program, Auburn’s donor base is continually being broadened.
The Prospect Researcher conducts in-depth and confidential prospect research on individuals, corporations and foundations for assigned Colleges/Schools/Units. Research includes collection, interpretation, analysis and documentation of data on prospective donors and other constituent groups. The Prospect Researcher will work with various stakeholders across the Auburn University campus, and will identify, analyze, and profile prospective philanthropic partners. This position will serve as a key advisor to Development Officers on best practices and strategies to promote productive, lasting and impactful engagement with prospective donors.
The candidate selected for this position should have an ability to manage and coordinate complex projects that include multiple tasks with competing deadlines; superior organizational skills; a work style that is thorough, accurate and detail-oriented; the ability to follow through on projects; demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making, in handling confidential and sensitive material; and the ability and desire to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
