Under the supervision of the Director, the Systems Administrator (Managing Assistant Director II) manages all system administration functions that support the University's production computing environment, as well as other supporting systems; participates in the development and effectuation of goals, policies and procedures for systems; and does related work as required. Primary systems to support will be Microsoft server and Red Hat Linux in both physical and virtual environments with an emphasis on migrating to a cloud computing environment where applicable. The Systems Administrator will manage all technical activities consisting of system and application software upgrades, performance analysis, record archival, tuning and maintenance.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience as a systems administrator required. Bachelor’s degree in an information technology based discipline and Microsoft/cloud certifications preferred. Experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis. Candidate must have extensive experience with VMware, Microsoft and cloud technologies.
