The Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life prepares Tufts students to become active citizens and community leaders. The Generous Listening and Dialogue (GLAD) Center at Tisch College, Tufts University, invites applications for a Program Administrator with exceptional communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

The GLAD Center’s mission is to contribute to and serve as a catalyst for a culture of generous listening and authentic dialogue at Tufts University. The newly launched GLAD Center will combine periodic dialogues on especially timely and vital issues, with a decentralized strategy of educating faculty, staff, and students in the practices of generous listening and deep dialogue.  The decentralized strategy of working through courses and programs in all of Tufts schools will allow GLAD to reach a wide subset of people at Tufts and address a wide range of issues. The GLAD Center’s goals are to:

Create, connect, and bolster a strong culture of productive dialogue across difference.
Serve as a central resource and hub for new and existing programs whose goals are consistent with the Center’s mission;
Support Tufts mission of civic engagement and the ability of Tufts students to find solutions to complex global problems that require dialogical skills;
Cultivate collaborative relationships between students, faculty, and staff to create innovative new programs, workshops, and trainings;
Emphasize contributions from the arts and environmental science for creative approaches to what it means to listen to the self, others and to nature.

In collaboration with their director the Program Administrator will participates in development of goals and strategies for the GLAD Center.  They will perform complex and diverse duties and serve as a central resource for the Center’s communications being responsible for implementing timely and effective communication to promote the program. The Program Administrator will have primary responsibility for the logistics involved in all Center events and programming. In addition, they will apply specialized subject matter knowledge to develop, implement, review, and evaluate the program while providing support for marketing and publicity materials including content and design. They will work with the director on developing the Center’s website and manage updates.  This position will also be responsible for the Center’s budget management and reporting.  The position reports to the Director of the GLAD Center while working closely with other members of the GLAD Center team.  Strong communication skills and sound judgment are needed to interact in a positive and effective way with multiple stakeholders.  The successful candidate will need to demonstrate cultural awareness and agility, collaborate, and act as a resource to a vibrant and diverse community.  The position will be expected to handle sensitive information with discretion, and multiple deadlines.
