Under the direction of the Managing Assistant Director for Employee Relations, the Junior HR Generalist (Managing Administrative Assistant II, Confidential) is responsible for administering, coordinating, and performing generalist functions to support all operating units and programs within the Office of Human Resources. This position oversees the management, implementation and supervision of the Performance Evaluation Process; end-to-end processing of minor disciplinary cases as assigned; database maintenance and ad-hoc reporting; participates in the formulation of managerial policies and procedures; and performs related duties as required for the Employee Relations Unit.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in Human Resources is required. Experience working as an HR generalist with employee relations issues and labor unions, as well as performance management is preferred. Experience working in a university environment is also preferred. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. Applicants who possess an Associate’s degree may substitute two (2) years of position-related experience for the remaining two (2) years of education. A Master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience. Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS is essential.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period to become eligible for a regular appointment.
