The Department of Medicine seeks to hire an experienced and highly responsible professional to serve as Clerkship Coordinator.
This position will manage the day-to-day operations for the 3rd and 4th year Medical Student Clerkship Program. The Clerkship Coordinator in the Department of Medicine calls must be a self-directed professional who exercises sound and independent judgment. This position reports to the Clerkship Director.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the 3rd and 4th year medical student clerkship program.
Function as the first-contact liaison to students, faculty, residents, community faculty, site administrators, and school administration for any issues or questions relating to the clerkship.
Provide primary support for the clerkship director in matters relating to the clerkship, and function as their representative if requested.
Develops and organizes student rotation schedules, didactic lectures, and exam preparation
Completes student assignments for inpatient and outpatient rotations with appropriate follow-up to the specific faculty member and/or site administrator.
Organize and provide administrative support for student didactic lecture schedules.
Compiles Objective Structured Clinical Examination questions for each scheduled training block; collates 4th year exam.
May be required to proctor exams if faculty member is not available.
Data management through the E-Value system
Record conference schedules, upload syllabus and handouts for each topic; annotate records when changes occur.
Post all evaluations completed by students and faculty evaluations of student performance.
Enter exam grades, review for accuracy; file report with Office of Medical Education.
Assist Chief resident with weekly grand rounds lecture.
Assist in development of annual reports and events.
Complete student annual evaluation letter for residency applications.
Provide back-up assistance for consult service.
