This position is primarily responsible for the successful management and delivery of client-facing clinical, administrative, instructional, and research software application solutions and services, both in-house and commercially developed. As the Application Services Manager, you will be responsible for:
- the development of processes and tools to maximize the efficiency of deployed systems and ensuring that application solutions and services are maintainable with the available staff resources
- supervising IT staff and effectively manage team resources to ensure software projects deliver the required service levels and are in compliance with the School’s information security, IT governance, and regulatory frameworks
- managing vendor relationships and lead the effort of maximizing the return on investment of in-house software development efforts

A Bachelor’s degree is required. More than three years of application services management experience in a large organization is required. Must be firmly grounded in software development life-cycle management and conversant with a variety of technical aspects of web application development and must be proficient in software development concepts and methodologies, especially agile. Supervisory experience and experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in a technical services support environment is also required. Proficiency in communicating effectively by speaking, listening and writing in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Management, Computer Science, or Engineering is preferred. A combination of education, specialized training, and experience equivalency will be considered as a substitute for one of the listed disciplines. An advanced degree is highly desirable and preferred. More than three years of application services management experience within the healthcare field is preferred. Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, make decisions that enhance organizational team effectiveness, and lead teams by positively influencing others to achieve desired results that are in the best interest of the organization is strongly preferred. Experience managing web-based and application services and databases in service development and delivery of services within commercial service-level framework preferable.
This IT position is in a 24×7 business environment and may require occasional scheduled and unscheduled work during non-business hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
