Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks to hire an Acquisitions Librarian for the Daytona Beach campus. Working in conjunction with the Head of Collection Management, the Acquisitions Librarian participates in all aspects of collection management, including acquisitions, budget management, and collection development. This position will work collaboratively with units throughout the Library to acquire content efficiently and effectively. The Acquisitions Librarian will manage the acquisition and delivery of monographic, media, and serials resources, and will work closely with the Head of Collection Management to facilitate acquisitions of electronic resources.
Essential & Other Functions:
Manages the acquisition of new library materials, primarily monographs, including ordering, invoicing and receiving, claims, and payments.
Evaluates potential purchases, purchase requests, and gifts.
Evaluates items for deaccessioning.
Collaborates with the cataloging unit to integrate acquisitions processes with cataloging workflows.
Makes recommendations and decisions regarding the collection development and the acquisitions budget.
Develops and implements new workflows to streamline the acquisitions processes.
Monitors and reconciles expenditures in Alma, vendor ordering platforms (GOBI, Amazon) and the university financial system.
Develops and provides analytics and reports for collection and budget management as needed.
Maintains accurate order and invoice information in Alma.
Establishes relationships with vendors, publishers, and the university community.
Supervises one-two FTE staff members.

ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science.
A minimum of one year of relevant experience with library acquisitions processes such as collection development, ordering, invoicing, and/or working with vendors (may include internships).
Understanding of automated library acquisitions systems and processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging issues, trends, workflows, business models, and best practices in library acquisitions.
Ability to work in a diverse environment and interact with individuals of different backgrounds.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Academic library experience.
Familiarity with vendor ordering platforms such as GOBI.
Familiarity with the Alma library systems platform.
Experience coordinating teams or supervising.
