The Natural Science and Mathematics Sector in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo is seeking an Administrative Assistant 1. This is a customer service oriented position and requires the incumbent to provide excellent customer service to the various populations. This position will support the Department of Mathematics and the Undergraduate Learning Center.

The responsibilities will include the following, but not limited to:
  • Provide administrative support to the Department Chair. Complete memorandums, prepare announcements, schedule and set up meetings.
  • Assist with departmental functions.
  • Assist faculty with documents requested from the Dean’s office.
  • Work with the department staff and visitors to prepare itineraries, restaurant reservations, coordinate with shared services teams
  • Manage the customer service aspect of the office which will include staffing the main reception desk, answering phone inquiries, and assisting "walk-in" visitors.
  • Serve as the principal resource to the students and faculty and responsible for all administrative tasks in the Learning Center.
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate inventory of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate the Work Study Program, which will include: posting positions, interviewing, training, scheduling and verification of timesheets.
  • Assist ULC with State and IFR accounts funds and provide clear and transparent communications about the budget in a proactive manner to the coordinator.
  • Provide direct assistance with force registration and registration issues as they arise for ULC and lower level MTH courses.
