Job Description Summary:
The web content coordinator/SEO writer will join a talented and innovative team within the Office of College Relations & Marketing and will be responsible for using our website to provide accurate and up-to-date information, share the best stories at ACC, tease out what sets us apart, and highlight the ways ACC supports students and their success.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Serves as the college’s lead technical writer and editor for web content that supports recruitment, enrollment, and retention and completion goals. Includes making SEO technical and content changes within the content management system. Meets with marketing and design teams to plan, develop and maintain site content, and uses web content management systems to an advanced level.
  • Uses search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to boost the college’s website’s search engine ranking.
  • Writes and publishes compelling, search-engine-optimized marketing blogs and other content that drives traffic to the website for exploration and onsite conversions.
  • Develops and manages the office’s editorial calendar to schedule online postings and ensure timely publication of college information. 
  • Tracks and reports on web analytics and other critical metrics to measure content performance and optimize as needed.
  • Oversees web content across departments and coordinates with content providers and key stakeholders collegewide to review messaging and provide recommendations, guidelines, information, and resources to deliver SEO content-related outputs.
  • Collaborates with others to provide feedback and ideas that can enhance the college’s website with the addition of photos, graphics, and videos.

  • Advanced knowledge of search engine optimization including appropriate keyword research, writing, and editing. 
  • Advanced knowledge of web content principles and current best practices. 
  • Advanced knowledge of multilevel, responsive dynamic, and static content. 
  • Proven ability to think strategically, with a balanced analytical and creative approach, and the ability to teach others to think strategically. 
  • Experience updating/editing/maintaining website content in a CMS
  • The ability to present the college in a positive way to diverse, multicultural communities. 
  • Writing and editing, research, and strong organizational skills.
  •  Knowledge and experience with Google Analytics platform.
  • Knowledge of effective web content marketing practices. 

Skills

  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. 

*Technology Skills *

  • Advanced use of web content management systems,  preferably WordPress or Drupal.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and search engine optimization tools such as SEM Rush and Google Trends.

*Required Work Experience *

  • One year related work experience

*Preferred Work Experience *

  • One year related work experience in higher education setting

*Required Education *

  • Associate degree.

Four years of related work experience may substitute for this education requirement. Applicants who substitute work experience to meet the education requirement must use additional related work experience to meet the years of "Required Work Experience" for this position.  Please note that the college reserves the right to amend these terms of substitution at any time.

*Preferred Education *

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher. 

*Physical Requirements *

  • Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. 
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. 
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Pay Range
$33,982 – $48,545

Full-time faculty and staffing table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the college are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.
 

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty and Administrators Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by federal law.
