We seek a strongly motivated individual to assist the Institute for Myelin and Glia Exploration with the organization and management of its general administration and support of the institute faculty and staff, as well as the administrative and laboratory staff. Thus, there is a need for the ability to work well in both team-oriented and self-directed environments; there is contact with all levels of the organization. Incumbents will work under general supervision following established practices and procedures and may direct or supervise other staff, such as interns, within the office. Typical DutiesThe job duties can vary widely from day to day. On any given day, there may be a variety of responsibilities, such as: Support of Senior Faculty and their laboratories:
* Preparing, tracking, and troubleshooting orders for office & lab supplies.
* Spreadsheet creation and maintenance.
* Account reconciliation.
* Collection and interpretation of data for reports.
* Preparing shipping documentation; drafting text, memoranda, and correspondence.
* Prepare requisitions, keep records of shipments, packing slips, prepare invoices for payment.
* Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
* Prepare reports and documents, as requested by faculty or senior administrator.
* Assist in managing various accounts and perform bookkeeping.
* Create and respond to correspondence with University personnel as well as domestic and international vendors, researchers, students.
Support of general Institute activities:
* Pick up/deliver shipments to the loading dock.
* Prepare used lab coats for laundry service, receive, and arrange cleaned lab coats for general lab access.
* Ability to work fully or partially remotely, as requested/needed.
