Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize stalls and barns daily
Keep feed room swept and cleaned
Clean and sanitize water buckets and troughs daily
Keep paddock and outside exercise areas clean
Assist with feeding and watering animals as needed
Unloading and storing feed, hay and bedding in the appropriate areas
Providing animals for laboratories as needed
Assist with pasture maintenance and upkeep
Assist with upkeep and health maintenance of University-owned animals
Assist with animal transportation
Weekend and holiday work may be required
Perform other duties as assigned by the VMTH Director and the Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences in consultation with the hospital director
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience working with farm animals
Ability to operate farm equipment (tractor, bush hog, pressure washer etc.)
Must be able to lift 50lbs or more without difficulty
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Commensurate with education, training and experience
