The Student Accounts department at the University at Buffalo is seeking a
Senior Staff Assistant to handle various reporting duties.
The selected candidate will perform a variety of duties to include:
Data Custodian- Receive and coordinate requests for access to Student Financials information; Maintain and monitor security access list for internal/external users; modify role or row access as needed; troubleshoot access issues
Create and utilize queries and reports in order to provide data for surveys, ad hoc requests, and departments.
Understand and become a subject matter expert of our third party vendor, Nelnet.
Payment Plan oversight
Train new Student Financials users depending on their role in PeopleSoft
Service Indicator (holds) management within PeopleSoft
Analysis of holds on accounts in order to make decisions
Cross train on key tasks within the office- billing, communications, fee assessment, item type creation, upgrade testing, late fees.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, accounting or a related field.
Two or more years of related experience in a financial setting (i.e. billing, collections, accounting, financial aid, finance, or budget).
Proven ability to work in an environment controlled by federal, state, and/or institutional guidelines.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate in Microsoft office software, particularly Excel and Access applications.
