Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a skilled, self-driven individual to join the Finance and Budget team as a Budget Analyst. This person will primarily be responsible for analyzing and processing budget transactions, including grants, operational funding, and salary expenses. The role reports to the Director, University Budget and is responsible for essential functions within the University Budget Office which includes day to day transaction processing and annual budget preparation.

Essential Job Functions
Managing the review and processing of budget transfers and requests for accuracy, approval and funding
Process sensitive and confidential salary information by maintaining personnel rosters to be in sync with HR records. Management of open position records and salary line savings. Update salary budgets for various personnel moves, promotions, etc., including working with departments to determine funding source
Responsible for annual review and processing of detailed compensation increases and moving budget funds to appropriate cost centers
Assist with annual budget cycle tasks including, but not limited to, review and entry/upload during revenue and expense processes; other tasks as required. Has primary responsibility for overall Sponsored Projects year-end rollover effort; coordinate annual revenue and expense budget
Exercises judgement and decision making based on the impact of transaction on University financial reporting, compliance, and budgets
Budget preparation in partnership with department leadership, including analysis of groups of accounts for future year budget estimate
Analysis of budget trends and forecasts
Regular and ad hoc report generation and analysis to provide information and/or Recommendations to the University Budget Director and University leadership for process or budget needs as they arise.
Training to assist budget managers understand fiscal responsibility and use of Oracle financial systems
Responsible for regular reconciliation of transfer account balances
Participate in periodic audits of personnel and operational budget transactions
Documentation of processes
